ARTIST STATEMENT

ARTIST STATEMENT

My artistic practice explores the relationship between identity, memory, perception, and the visual narratives that shape contemporary life. Working across painting, animation, illustration, and visual storytelling, I investigate how images construct personal and collective experience, revealing the subtle tensions between the individual and the social environments they inhabit.

Painting remains at the core of my practice. Through expressive color, layered surfaces, and figurative compositions, I create spaces where reality and imagination coexist. Rather than depicting the visible world, my works seek to visualize emotional and psychological landscapes, inviting viewers to reflect on identity, vulnerability, and transformation.

My research extends beyond traditional studio practice into animation and visual education. As both an artist and researcher, I am interested in how narrative, movement, and sequential imagery can become tools for learning, communication, and critical reflection. This dialogue between artistic creation and academic research continually informs my creative process, allowing each discipline to enrich the other.

Recurring themes in my work include femininity, memory, consumer culture, and the construction of identity. I am particularly interested in how contemporary visual culture shapes our understanding of beauty, belonging, and self-worth. Rather than offering definitive answers, my work creates spaces for ambiguity, encouraging viewers to question familiar assumptions and develop their own interpretations.

My interdisciplinary practice reflects a belief that art is both a means of personal expression and a form of inquiry. Whether through painting, animation, illustration, or educational projects, I seek to create works that foster dialogue, imagination, and meaningful human connection.
